  • 統合失調症の薬で錐体外路症状が出るのは、薬によってドーパミンを神経伝達物質とする神経活動が抑制されるからで、非薬物性パーキンソン症候群ではドーパミンを神経伝達物質とする神経が変性によって失われる（ものが多い）ことと対応している
  • その錐体外路症状を中心とするパーキンソン症候群だが、非運動症状も出ることがあり、その場合は、脳幹のドーパミン神経だけでなくセロトニン神経なども障害されるからと考えられるが、その解剖学的な関係は以下。純粋なパーキンソニズムの核は外側のA8とかA10とかであるのに対し、内側のセロトニン細胞の核などの関与がある、ということで、そのセロトニンの働きを高めると鬱症状の改善がみられるというのが、この記事の内容。パーキンソニズムでセロトニン神経も失われ、鬱がでているときに、セロトニンの働きを高める薬でパーキンソニズムの鬱の症状も軽快するね、という話（だろう）
